What This Site Is
This is a collection of system analysis notes.
Each note examines a system—technical, social, or organizational—by looking at what it claims to optimize for, what signals it actually responds to, and how architectural decisions shape behavior over time.
These are not opinion pieces and not tutorials.
They are structured analytical artifacts designed to be read independently and referenced as needed.
There is no feed, no algorithm, and no requirement to read in order.
What You’ll Find Here
- Standalone analyses of real-world and hypothetical systems
- A consistent analytical framework applied across very different domains
- Focus on incentives, defaults, second-order effects, and loss or preservation of user agency
- Notes that reflect active thinking and may evolve as understanding improves
Each note is intended to be useful on its own.
How to Use This Site
You can start anywhere.
- Browse notes by theme
- Read a single analysis
- Return later without needing prior context
There is no chronological structure and no expectation of continuous reading.
Why This Exists
Many systems fail quietly—not due to bad intent, but because incentives drift, assumptions go unexamined, and structural decisions create outcomes no one explicitly planned.
This site exists to make those dynamics easier to see and reason about.
The goal is clarity, not commentary.
